Job Summary
The Head of Business Development is responsible for overseeing the Commercial Planning & Insights and Product Development functions. This role directly supports the Chief Executive Officer and contributes to achieving the company’s overall objectives. The position requires working across multiple departments to maximize product and service performance, strengthen decision-making, and enhance operational and strategic efficiency through effective implementation of management frameworks.
Job Scope
- Lead the integration of Product, Sales, Marketing, Service, and Operations strategies into actionable plans to ensure successful market execution and performance of services, products, brands, trade clusters, channels, and key accounts.
- Develop and execute product strategies and plans aligned with sales, marketing, and trade policies to achieve brand, market, and volume targets.
- Oversee trade research, channel development, and back-end support for the Sales and Marketing team while ensuring systems, processes, and resources are well-prepared for both current and future business needs.
Key Responsibilities - Design and monitor Product Development, Demand, and Cycle Plans to align with brand, company, and sales objectives, reflecting customer and channel needs.
- Implement and champion operational and strategic management frameworks to ensure flawless planning and execution of business programs. Prepare monthly dashboards and quarterly business review presentations for senior management.
- Collect and analyze data from internal systems, sales, marketing, finance, trade audits, and customer feedback to identify opportunities, weaknesses, and priorities. Provide insights and recommendations to drive business performance.
- Maintain updated databases, spreadsheets, and project plans, ensuring accurate reporting on market trends, competitor strategies, and performance progress for management.
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate consumer and customer promotions within budget, ensuring strong participation and maximum ROI. Present post-campaign analyses with outcomes and key learnings.
- Support Sales and Service teams with account strategies to drive growth and improve performance with key customers.
- Keep managers informed of new trends, competitor activity, and market changes to help address opportunities and risks through effective planning and execution.
- Manage and control the Product Development budget, ensuring efficient allocation in line with company profitability, volume, and brand objectives.
- Lead, train, and develop departmental staff to achieve product, brand, customer, and channel targets while fostering professional growth.
- Partner with HR and the Learning & Development team to continuously build capabilities through the Skill Development Centre, ensuring teams are well-prepared for current and future challenges.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Tourism & Hospitality Management preferred).
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Experience - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant field.
Background in the travel and tourism industry is highly desirable.
Technical Skills - Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and digital/social applications for reporting, presentations, and recommendations.

Working Hours - Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
